Floor Medallions Add Style to a Room

When most people think of making a room pop, they rarely think of the floor. The eyes, after all, tend to scan the walls around a person. But once you see a floor medallion, you’ll understand why they’re such a great way to jazz a room up.

Medallions are circles made out of mosaic tile, marble or even wood. Inside the circle is generally a geometric pattern like a starburst or a compass. Sometimes the design is quite simple, though other times they can be rather complicated.

Floor medallions can be any number of colors and the insides don’t necessarily have to be a pattern. Some people opt to put the first letter of their last name in or even their whole initials. They vary in size, but many are usually about four feet in diameter. They stay flush to the floor so even though they pop, visually, they wont actually obstruct your movement in any way.
